Sometimes I Wish I Was A Robot

1 Apr

Sometimes I wish I was a robot.

I could turn on and off with the simple flip of a switch

I would live in a world of numbers and probability.

I would have my sturdy armour of metal

My insatiable heart would be replaced by a swichboard with it’s tiny array of blinking lights.

Sometimes I wish I was a robot.

I would have no worries of the future

I would not wake in the night fighting off whatever strange and terrible things my brain has conjured up.

I wouldn’t feel torn between two countries

I wouldn’t be swallowed up by melancholy when I think about my family.

Sometimes I wish I was a robot.
